Meet Laura McIntyre NP
Laura is the Founder, Medical Director, and Nurse Practitioner behind Rise Medical Aesthetics in Nanaimo, BC. She has been a Registered Nurse since 2006 and completed her Nurse Practitioner degree in 2019. For the past several years, she has focused exclusively on aesthetic medicine, combining advanced clinical expertise with an artistic eye to create natural-looking results that help patients feel refreshed, confident, and authentically themselves.
Known for her warm, approachable nature and meticulous attention to detail, Laura believes that aesthetic medicine should enhance rather than change. She specializes in cosmetic and therapeutic neuromodulators, dermal fillers, biostimulators, and comprehensive treatment planning, always prioritizing patient safety, education, and individualized care. Her goal is to create a comfortable, collaborative experience where patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their treatment decisions.
As a lifelong Vancouver Island resident and a nurse at heart, Laura founded Rise Medical Aesthetics with a vision of creating more than just a medical aesthetics clinic. She wanted to build a welcoming space where people could come together in wellness, receive exceptional care, and feel genuinely valued. Today, she is proud to lead a team of highly skilled professionals who share her commitment to integrity, clinical excellence, and outstanding patient experiences.
Outside of the clinic, Laura is a busy mom who loves embracing the West Coast lifestyle. Whether she's snowboarding in the winter, mountain biking local trails, wakeboarding in the summer, or spending time with family and friends, she values adventure, balance, and making the most of everything Vancouver Island has to offer.
